FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What can I expect at worship services?

  • When and where do worship services happen?

Describe the item or answer the question so that site visitors who are interested get more information. You can emphasize this text with bullets, italics, or bold, and add links.

  • How long does the service last?

Services last approximately one hour. We also set aside some time at the end to relax and chat together. Please don’t worry if you arrive late, or have to leave early.

  • What exactly happens at a worship service?

Each service follows a simple structure including prayer, singing and reading and learning from the Bible. We don’t expect you to join in if you don’t feel comfortable. Feel free to participate as much or as little as you wish. In fact, if you just want to watch, that’s fine with us!

  • Can I bring my children?

All ages are welcome at ReCentre Community Church and a number of children currently attend. We want kids to feel comfortable and our services are adapted to include them. We usually provide an activity or craft for the children to do during the service. You’re also welcome to bring along some favourite toys or books.

We understand young children are active, so please don’t panic if they wander, chat or cry during the service! Remember: “If you don’t hear crying, the church is dying!”

However, if you do want to leave with your child for any reason, you’re welcome to use the hallway or toilet facilities are also available.

NB.  All adults working with children are Garda vetted and our church operates under Church of Ireland Safeguarding.

  • Where do I park?

There is on street parking on John Street. Sligo Cathedral Car Park and Wine Street Car Park are both a short 2 minute walk away.

NB Good news-parking in Sligo is free on Sundays! If you're visiting us during the week, parking charges may apply, so please check local signage for details.

  • What should I wear?

We are very relaxed and informal at ReCentre, so please wear whatever you are comfortable in and come as you are!

  • Am I expected to pay anything?

No. Regular attenders often choose to give to the work of the church but it’s not required. As a registered charity, we give clear reports about how all money is being spent.
