EXPLORE LIFE, FAITH AND MEANING

Alpha is a 10-week series exploring the basics of the Christian faith. Through Alpha we aim to provide a safe space to discuss the big questions of life and faith in a friendly and informal environment. Every Alpha session begins with some food, followed by a video exploring different aspects of the Christian faith, and then time for discussion, where you get to have your say.


Alpha is a place where everyone is welcome, no matter what you believe. There’s no pressure to say anything in the small group. And at any point, if you think Alpha isn’t for you, that’s not a problem. There’s no pressure, no follow up and no charge.


At Recentre we run several Alphas each year in a number of contexts including in our own building, local schools, and Sligo ATU in partnership with their Christian Union. Find out about the types of Alpha courses we run below.

ADULT ALPHA

We regularly run Alpha for adults, usually in our own space at McGee House in Sligo. These Alphas are open to anyone who would like a safe space to explore the Christian faith. Everyone is welcome, regardless of their background or beliefs. There's no cost and no pressure. You can come for as much or as little of Alpha as you like. YOUTH ALPHA

Created by young people for young people, the new Alpha Youth series creatively unpacks the real questions young people have. The series, consisting of 10 episodes, run over 8 weeks, introduces and explores the core ideas of the Christian faith, in a relevant and engaging way.  At ReCentre we run Alpha Youth through our GAP Youth program, encouraging young people who have previously done an Alpha course to lead and facilitate alongside youth leaders.

ALPHA IN SCHOOLS

We run Alpha Youth in several schools across Sligo in partnership with other local churches and Christian organisations. This is often done as part of the Transition Year program, offering students the opportunity to ask life's big questions, find belonging and discover a faith that is personal and vibrant.
